chEARs Alex, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I see you are making a journey across the pond, and I know you are going to have a magical visit! My husband is Scottish, and his brother and sister-in-law (with their in-laws and kiddos in tow) just returned to Edinburgh after a fabulous two-week vacation at Walt Disney World! We love having the family visit, as its an automatic excuse to visit them at The Mouse, but boy, do our stomachs stretch during those visits!
I think it is super smart to be thinking about your health while on vacation! As long as you make smart decisions, I'm sure you are going to do great. There is a scale in every fitness center on property, including the Olympiad Fitness Center at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
Now, I could probably eat my weight in churros, but my saving grace is the amount of walking that I do in the Parks! On a regular day at the hospital, I average 10,000 steps. I usually double that at Walt Disney World. There are also several healthy snack (as well as meal) options that will help you keep your weight in check! One of the easiest ways to identify healthier choices is to look for the Disney Check on the menu.
Alex, I wish you lots of luck and pixie dust!
