We are staying in Art of Animation Resort. I am trying to find out if we can take the skyliner to the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom. Please clarify this for me?

    Jazzmine,

This is an interesting question. There is no direct connection between the  Disney Skyliner and the Monorail, so technically no, you cannot take the Skyliner to the Monorail then to the Magic Kingdom.

However, if you have Park Hopper tickets, you can get pretty close to it. Let me explain. If you view the Skyliner map on the page I linked to above, you will see that you can take the Skyliner from your resort to Epcot. At Epcot you would enter via the International Gateway located in the World Showcase section of the park. If you walked through the park to the front entrance by Spaceship Earth you could then hop on the Monorail. That walk is about 6/10 of a mile. The first monorail ride takes you to the Transportation & Ticket Center, where you would transfer to the other Monorail line that would take you to the Magic Kingdom.

So for a Disney enthusiast like me, I love to ride the Skyliner and the Monorail, so I would enjoy that trip. But certainly it would be faster to get from Disney's Art of Animation Resort to the Magic Kingdom via the provided complimentary bus service. Really, the decision is up to you. My guess is that the bus trip would be far quicker, and less hassle.
