I am staying at the Art of Animation Resort and running the princess half this Sunday. What are the transportation options/recommendations and schedule.

Hello, Dorothy! Thank you so much for taking the time to send in your question to planDisney.

I want to sincerely apologize for not seeing your question sooner—however, congratulations on running those 13.1 magical miles on during the Disney Princess Half Marathon on Sunday! After all those months of training, it feels like a dream come true when you get to run down Main Street, U.S.A, and through Cinderella Castle. I love looking back on those moments in my PhotoPass pictures!

The main reason I like to stay at a hotel in the Disney Resorts Collection for my runDisney 'run'cations is the complimentary race day transportation. It's one less thing to stress about when your alarm is set for 2:30 AM, and you don't want to be late for the ball! runDisney event transportation is provided from all Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Shades of Green, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts (for future reference). Chartered buses will get you to and from the race starting at 2:30 AM at most host resorts, including Disney's Art of Animation Resort. Monorail transportation is available to the guests staying in the resorts along that loop (for the half and full marathons only). The Skyliner does not offer any runDisney race transportation.

I know that this information didn't get to you when you needed it, Dorothy, but please let me know if you have any more questions about your vacation or even a future runDisney race weekend. I'd love to help you sometime. We hope to see ya real soon!

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania! I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique. It's incredible how many people you can find who love talking about "The Most Magical Place On Earth!" I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at my monthly Bunco club for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
