We are staying at the art of animation resort and check our last day at 11 am. Flight is not until 4:15- we are not planning on going to the park that day. Will we be allowed to go to the hotel pool? What recommendations do you have for that day?

    Hi Sarah,

You’re going feel like you've stepped right into the middle of some of Disney’s most beloved stories during your stay at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! You’re going to LOVE it!

I’m happy to let you know that you’re considered a Guest of your Disney Resort hotel for the entire day of both your check-in and check-out, so yes, you’re more than welcome to enjoy one more swim in the pool before heading back home. Did you know that Disney’s Art of Animation Resort has the only pool on property that has underwater sounds? You’ll definitely want to check out The Big Blue Pool at some point during your visit! It’s so totally awesome, dude! Beyond swimming in the pool, I do have a few other ideas for you. Just strolling around each area and enjoying all of the characters and details is enjoyable, but you'll also find several playgrounds that would be lots of fun if you have little Mouseketeers with you. Also, be sure to ask for a recreation calendar that will list all of the fun activities going on, and check at the front desk to see if they’ll be offering drawing classes during your stay. Those are definitely something unique!

One other thing: If you notice when you first enter the Resort hotel, all of the drawings are without color. As you follow along the wall, the pictures develop with more color and details, just like animation has developed throughout the decades. Be sure to look for some of your favorite characters!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Sarah, and please let us know if you have any other questions as you’re planning your visit. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
