We are staying at Art of Animation and have dinner reservations at Chef Mickey's. How much time should we allow for travel? We are planning to take the bus to Magic Kingdom and then the monorail to the Contemporary resort. Is this the best plan? Thank you!

    Hello, Jennifer!

It sounds like you are planning a practically perfect Walt Disney World vacation! Chef Mickey's is an excellent dinner choice for children of all ages. Your plan to take a bus to Magic Kingdom Park and then board the monorail for the final stretch could work very well. It is generally advised to allow for 90 minutes to travel between destinations at the Walt Disney World Resort. From my experience, some trips can take more or less than the recommended 90 minute travel time but often come close to that mark, especially when traveling between Disney Resort hotels.

You can certainly take a bus from Disney's Art of Animation Resort to Magic Kingdom Park and then hop on the monorail to Disney's Contemporary Resort. My family and I would most likely choose to walk from the Magic Kingdom Park bus stop to Disney's Contemporary Resort - rather than board the monorail - because it is a short walk on a nice walkway and there is not a huge difference in travel time. That could be another option for your family, if you have the time and energy (and the weather cooperates!)

I hope you and your family make many magical memories at the Walt Disney World Resort, Jennifer! Please don't hesitate to stop back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions. Hope to hEAR from you soon!
