We are staying at Art of Animation and will arrive next week. We have reservations the first night at Chef Mickey at 9:25pm, what is the best way to get to and from the hotel? Will the Disney buses be available after we leave dinner?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lynda! It's just about time to head out for your magical adventure at the Walt Disney World Resort! My family and I love Art of Animation Resort, so I just know you'll enjoy a great vacation there.

It's super easy to make your way from Art of Animation to your reservation at Chef Mickey's. This restaurant is inside Disney's Contemporary Resort, and while there aren't direct transfers between resorts, you can very easily take the Disney bus from Art of Animation to Magic Kingdom. Then, hop on the monorail and the first stop is right there inside the Contemporary. As you walk off the monorail, just look down and you'll see Chef Mickey's right below you inside!

When you've finished dining with Chef Mickey and his pals, hop back on the monorail for a quick loop around the resorts (Disney's Polynesian and Grand Floridian) before returning to Magic Kingdom where you can catch your bus back to Art of Animation. Buses run until two hours after the park closes. My kids adore the resort monorail. We ride is just for the fun of it, and even when we don't really have to get anywhere. It's a quintessential Disney experience for them, so I'm sure your kids will adore this short (but necessary) detour in returning to your resort. Alternately, it's only a five to ten minute walk from the bus stops at Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary, but the monorail is a lot more fun! Especially for tired kiddos!

    Have fun, Lynda!
