Hi, Staying at AofA in May in Little Mermaid room. Worried about the far walking and noticed you had stayed in those rooms. DD is 5 yrs, DS is 3 yrs. Will we regret the long walks? Are these rooms good for parents with young kids? Any concerns for us?

Hi there Karen! Thanks for directing your question to me! I did enjoy a lovely stay in one of the Little Mermaid guest rooms at DIsney's Art of Animation Resort in December and can honestly say that it surpassed my expectations! I love the whimsical guest rooms that feature an immersive storybook theming, small refrigerator, and complimentary WiFi. I actually timed the walk from my guest room to Landscape of Flavors, the quick-service dining location, and found it to take approximately seven to ten minutes depending on how briskly you walk. I found the walk to be very enjoyable since there was so much to take in with the larger than life icons adorning the buildings and beautiful landscaping that complemented each area of the resort perfectly! Although I didn't utilize the pools during my stay, I did love the fact that guests have the option of swimming in three entirely different themed pools and found the Flippin’ Fins Pool to be very convenient to those staying in The Little Mermaid area of the resort.

In all honesty, the longest walk you would most likely encounter is to the bus stop which is located in the front of the resort. I would estimate the walk to take approximately 10-12 minutes. I personally would not hesitate to stay at DIsney's Art of Animation Resort in The Little Mermaid guest rooms again and would do so with young children. I have stayed in a Deluxe Resort in the past and encountered long walks when our room was situated at the end of a long hallway. I also wanted to mention that DIsney's Art of Animation Resort does have its own dedicated bus service and does not share with any other resort which I think is a huge benefit.  I hope this information helps in making your decision. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any additional questions that I can assist you with. Best wishes for a magical trip, Karen!
    Happy Planning,
    Jodie
