Hi Andy! You're in for quite a treat staying at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge this fall! The Imagineers went the extra mile with this resort, and there's nothing like it anywhere else on property- or in the United States, for that matter! The thatched roofs, traditional African art and music, and of course 43-acre wildlife preserve immerse you in the magic. This is the place to stay at Walt Disney World when you want a resort that rivals the excitement of the parks.
Making sure you have a prime view of the animals from your room is a priority here, so I grabbed the notes I made when we stayed here in 2017. When staying at Jambo House, the most coveted rooms are on the Arusha Savanna (here you'll see animals such as giraffes, Ankole cattle, zebras, and wildebeests). On this savanna, there are two trails to choose from: The Zebra and the Kudu. There are great views from both, but I'd give a slight edge to the Zebra Trail as these rooms are a little closer to the pool. Since you are hoping to see the animals come to your balcony, pick a room on either the second or third floor. The Touring Plans website has a room finder tool that will show you the views from each room, and they even explain how to send a fax to request a particular room (this is never guaranteed, but it's worked for me a couple times).
I hope this helps, Andy, and if I may offer another suggestion, breakfast at
Boma is delicious (I've been known to eat several helpings of the French Toast Bread Pudding)!
