    We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge on our upcoming trip. We chose not to rent a car. What if we change our minds after we arrive and want to rent a car. How difficult would it be to rent a car once on property? What is our easiest option? Thanks

    Cars may be rented on Disney property from Alamo or National at the Disney Car Care Center (407-824-3470). The front desk of your hotel can give you information on the best way to get to the Car Care Center; they might even offer to shuttle you over there for free. There are also car rental desks at several of the non-Disney resorts on Hotel Plaza Boulevard.  As you make your car rental decision, bear in mind that you are not likely to get the best rate with a last minute booking.

    Car rental at WDW is hot topic. Even among the moms on this panel, we have very different opinions on the value of renting a car vs. using the Disney transportation system. I may perhaps be the most anti-car mom on the Panel. For other points of view, you might want to check out the discussion of car rentals in the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. This book is available through Amazon and most retailers and is an indispensable part of planning any trip to WDW.
