Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Julie! My family and I love staying at
Animal Kingdom Lodge. We've stayed at so many of the Walt Disney World Resorts, but once we experienced a week at Animal Kingdom Lodge with giraffes and zebras right off of our balcony and at the viewing terraces around the resort, we fell in love and continue to make this resort our home away from home each time we visit!
You'll find hairdryers in the resort rooms, so no need to bring one from home. Usually, I find mine in a fabric bag just below the sink on a shelf, so check there. If for some reason you don't find yours, simply call Guest Services and they'll make sure a hairdryer is delivered to you, but I've always had one waiting for me in our room.
I hope you've made some Advanced Dining Reservations already, as there are really wonderful
restaurants to try at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Sanaa is a fabulous spot where you can even watch the animals on the savannah as you dine. The Indian Style Bread Service is a
must-have when you dine there, so don't miss it! Over at Boma, my family and I can never decide between the amazing brunch or the delicious dinner with African flavors, so this fall we're booking both meals there. I highly recommend you do the same!
If you're interested in African culture, and animals, there are nature guides from different African countries that offer short talks and demonstrations, as well as kids' activities throughout each day. My kids learned all about the African Big Five animals during a super educational and fun talk, and they love participating in different crafts throughout our stay that earn them beads to add to an African necklace. What a fun way to sneak in some great learning while having a blast!
Have such fun as you visit, Julie!
