Jambo Caroline, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
Animal Kingdom Lodge is such a special place to stay. Where else can you spot giraffes and zebras right outside of your hotel?!
First, let’s talk hairdryers. All
Disney Resort hotel rooms have a hairdryer, but I’ve found they don’t always have attachments, like a diffuser or concentrator. If the hairdryer in your room doesn’t have any, you can always check with Housekeeping to see if they have what you’re looking for. Since that’s not guaranteed, if it’s important to have a specific attachment, I’d recommend bringing your own hairdryer. Just keep in mind that the voltage is different in the U.K. and U.S., so it might be easier to purchase a hairdryer when you get to the U.S. Disney World gift shops don’t usually carry hairdryers, but
Sephora at
Disney Springs sometimes has them or you can find more affordable options at offsite stores.
Now, let’s make sure you can charge all of those devices, from phones to your
MagicBands (officially called Disney Bands outside of the U.S.)! The good news is, you’ll find plenty of USB-A outlets in the rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Hopefully, this helps you pack a bit lighter since you might not need as many adapter plugs!
I’m excited for your stay because Animal Kingdom Lodge has so many fun activities! I’d recommend planning a resort day, or even a midday break back at the resort, to enjoy everything Animal Kingdom Lodge has to offer. The little ones in my family love the String of Memories Activities, where they can collect beads by learning about animal behavior. And my favorite is the Jambo House Lobby Art Tour. Animal Kingdom Lodge has the largest private collection of African art outside of Africa! There’s usually a sign in the lobby with the activity schedule, but you can also check with the front desk.
I hope you have the most magical stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge! If you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
