We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge next year , Sept 2020, and will be staying in a room that overlooks one of the Savannahs. My question is, can we ask for a room that overlooks a specific Savannah? If so how far in advance should we do so?

Jambo, Joe! Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the best-themed hotels anywhere in the world. The main draw here is the private 43-acre wildlife preserve populated with free-roaming African animals. Trust me...waking up to a giraffe outside your balcony is a very magical way to start your day!

For Guests staying at Jambo House, the most requested savanna is the Arusha Savanna, since it is the resort's central savanna, located right off the lobby; because of this, you can be assured that there will always be a wide variety of animals here. Although all the savannas have giraffes, this is the only one with zebras, if that is important to you. The rooms on the Arusha Savanna are comprised of two trails: the Zebra and the Kudu. I give a slight edge to the rooms on the Zebra Trail since they are closer to the pool and restaurants. Also, rooms on the third and fourth floors offer the best animal viewing locations.

You can make requests during online check-in on the My Disney Experience app, which is available 60 days before your arrival. You can also call Walt Disney World's reservation line at (407) 939-1936, and ask for the request to be added to your reservation. However, I like to use Touring Plans, which is a subscription-based website that offers a room finder tool complete with pictures of the views from each room. After you make your selection, they will send a fax about a week before you check-in. Although room requests are never guaranteed, I've had some pixie-dusted views on several of my trips.

Joe, I hope you have a problem-free philosophy during your trip nest yEAR! Hakuna Matata!
