We are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge and we have a breakfast reservation at Cape May at 0740 AM. What is the best way to get Disney transportation for this reservation?

Hiya, Johnathen, and thanks for stopping by planDisney! Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just a beach ball toss away, so let's look at transportation options to get you to Disney's Beach Club Resort for a sunny-side-up breakfast!

I've heard breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so I'm entirely on board with kicking off your morning at Cape May Cafe. Minnie's Beach Bash Breakfast is a party by the sea! Minnie and her pals are often in their beach blanket best, and the Cheddar Biscuits and Gravy will give you lots of energy for a Disney day.

While I admire your early-bird habits, using complimentary resort transportation might be tricky since there are no resort-to-resort options. Your best bet might be to hop on a bus from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Buses will begin service to the theme parks about 45 minutes before the park opens. Most of this week, Animal Kingdom opens at 7:30 AM for resort guests, so you should be able to catch a bus as early as 6:45 AM.

You'll be dropped at the bus area at Animal Kingdom, so look for signs to the Disney's Beach Club Resort bus loading area. I spoke to a waffle-loving Cast Member who said that as long as buses have started bringing guests from Beach Club, they should also take them to that resort.

I have to qualify all this by pointing out that the timing might make you late for your reservation. Bus arrivals and departures depend on the number of guests utilizing the service, weather, traffic, and more. If you decide to chance it, I recommend being at the Animal Kingdom bus stop at your resort by 6:30 AM so you can be sure to hop aboard the first bus. Even then, the timing of catching the Beach Club bus at Animal Kingdom seems like a risk.

I recommend using a rideshare service from your resort to Disney's Beach Club Resort. You might be asked to show your Cape May Cafe reservation, and the driver will drop you off at the resort entrance. While this option isn't free, it is the most direct route between the two resorts. To start your day the most festive way, schedule Minnie Van service through Lyft. I've never used these red polka-dotted vehicles, but it's on my Disney bucket list!

Another suggestion is to ask the front desk of your resort for transportation recommendations. They'll have a better sense of the timing of your travel. You can also enter your location and destination in the mobile app by tapping the location pin at the bottom of the screen and selecting Transportation from the dropdown menu at the top. Remember that the early-morning options will be different, so you could experiment in the app the morning before.

Johnathen, I'm sprinkling pixie dust and sunscreen so you'll have the best beach party ever! Please stop by planDisney anytime.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
