Staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in April with a 13 yr old boy. Wondering about the kid and family activities there. Heard something about storytelling. I am booking dining in the parks, and want to know what approximate times/days are the activitie

    Hi Linda!

I'm staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL) and I can't wait! My son is also 13, so definitely can help you find activities that you will both love.

You will find a wonderful arcade that you son will love. You can also go on the safari and sit around the bonfire to hear the tales told by African story tellers. That may be the storytelling you are thinking about. The times vary depending upon the time year you visit, so make sure to pick up an activity sheet from the resort when you arrive. You will see on the guide that there are pool side activities, crafts, campfires and more. The pool there is awesome and your son will love hanging out at the pool.

There is also a safari, culinary tour, cultural safari and a community hall in which you can find crafts and other kids activities.

Make sure to eat at Jiko The Cooking Place and Boma when you go. The food is wonderful.

When you arrive you will also want to get a wildlife guide. It will show you the types of animals on the safari. You can even get a pair of night vision googles and check out the animals at night, which is super cool!

Let me know if you have any other questions about Animal Kingdom Lodge!

    Magically,
    Stacy
