Jambo, Marcee! Thanks for bringing another excellent question to planDisney. You're going to have a wild time this September!
There are
two pools at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge – one at Jambo House and one at Kidani Village. If you are staying at Jambo House, the feature pool is Uzima Springs. At more than 11,000 square feet, it is one of the largest pools at Walt Disney World Resort. My favorite thing is the viewing area where you can see the animals at the Lodge, including the flamingoes. The Samawati Springs Pool at Kidani Village is smaller than Jambo House's but has a bigger water slide. The big highlight here is Uwanja Camp, a water playground with three fun play zones. Both pools at Animal Kingdom Lodge are open daily from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM (hours are subject to change).
Like you, I enjoy starting my Disney day with a run (and a big cup of coffee, in that order)! While there are many
running trails located throughout Walt Disney World, Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the few resorts that doesn't offer a designed area. When I stayed there, I ran from Kidani Village to Jambo House and back several times. Alternatively, you can use the treadmills at the
Zahanati Massage & Fitness Center located near the Uzima Springs pool. It usually opens by 6:00 AM, so you'll have plenty of time to get in your jog, stop at the Mara for a cup of joe, hit the shower, and get to the park!
I hope you have a magical stay, Marcee! For more tips and advice about Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, check out
