hi, We are staying at AKL this month and have included the dinning plan for myself, husband and 2yr ol daughter & hopper pass We are staying 7nights 8days. I was wonding if $1000 spending money is enough of should we bring more.

    Hi Isabella,

Wow it sounds as though you have a fantastic trip planned!

For my family $1000 would be tons of spending money for a weeks trip but obviously all families are different. As you are on the dining plan all you'll need to spend on food whilst you're there will be the tip, this is generally 18% of the final bill and as there are only 2 of you dining, your daughter will eat free, this should not amount to too much. Other things you may spend money on will be souvenirs which range from a few dollars to a few thousand dollars, if you're after just the normal souvenirs $1000 will be more than enough. You may also want to play mini golf or rent a stroller but again your budget should easily cover all those.

Personally I think $1000 will be fine but if you're at all worried take some more, every room has a safe to store valuables in, and you can always take it back home with you. Or take a credit card just for emergencies!

    Have a fantastic trip,

    Jo
