Stayed at WL Villas last time and loved the quiet and convenience to MK. Considering Beach Club Villas this time. Mom, Dad, kids 4 and 7 and two older grandmas. Can you compare these properties and give advice? Is waterpark far from villas and crowded?

    Hi Deidre,

I've stayed at both the Wilderness Lodge Villas and the Beach Club villas MANY times. I personally prefer the woodsy themeing at the WL, but for convenience and amenities, the BC comes out the clear winner for my family. Here's why:

    - WL is convenient to one theme park. The BC is convenient to two theme parks (Epcot and DHS) and the Boardwalk.
    - The BC nighttime view of the Boardwalk is extraordinary and the free evening Boardwalk entertainment is fun for kids and adults.
    - Epcot is literally a three minute walk from the BC Villas.
    - When staying at the BC, my family will spend the morning at one place, but then have almost every dinner at Epcot or on the Boardwalk. This means that when we're tired at the end of the day, we don't have to deal with transportation, we're just a quick walk "home" and then can tumble into bed.
    - Stormalong Bay, the 3-acre pool complex shared by the Yacht and Beach Clubs, is by far the best pool at WDW.
    - When my kids were small, we nearly had to drag them out of the pool each day, they were having so much fun.

When you're asking about crowd levels at the waterpark, I assume that you're asking about Stormalong Bay. If so, I've never found the crowds there to be an issue. There are guards that check resort IDs at the entrance, so only guests of the YC, BC, and BCV are allowed in. Stormalong Bay is attached to the main Beach Club building. It's about a three minute walk from the villas to Stormalong Bay.

Truly, you'll have a great time at either location, but I think the BC is certainly worth checking out.
