We have only stayed at the Polynesian throughout the yrs and love it. We were thinking about trying The Wilderness due to the cost. My 2yr old does not sleep well, is hotel noisy and if so which rooms are in a quiet area? Is it worth the change in hotels?

    Hi Julie!

Both resorts are great choices! Our family has had the good fortune to stay at both of these resorts and the Wilderness Lodge is our favorite!

The Wilderness Lodge is not a very noisy hotel with only a few areas that could have some noise to disturb your son. The rooms on the North Side (the left of the hotel as you stand looking at it from the main entrance) may have some noise from ferry boat horns as they pass by during the day. Typically, these horns do not sound off at night, but you may want to request a room away from this area. (Also, rooms at the Polynesian which are near the boat dock may have the same issue.)

Another area with the potential for some noise are the rooms directly off of the lobby. These rooms may hear some noise from diners at the Whispering Canyon Cafe during serving hours.

Other than that, the Wilderness Lodge is a very quiet and relaxing place to spend your vacation. With a room request to be near or facing the Wilderness Lodge villas, you should have no problems at all!

i hope you enjoy our favorite resort!
