Hello, Polly! I'm glad to welcome you to planDisney and answer your question!
How wonderful to be planning a visit to
Walt Disney World Resort! It truly is a magical destination with so much to do! There are dozens of great Resort hotels, and
Disney's Yacht Club is an excellent choice. The location can't be beat, and the views are stunning, but the star of the show is
Stormalong Bay, the 750,000-gallon pool that's more of a beachside wonderland! When you stay here, you're just a stroll away from
EPCOT, as well as my favorite transportation option,
Disney's Skyliner! You are also right on
Disney's Boardwalk, where you can take a morning walk around Crescent Lake, grab an afternoon snack, or enjoy the nightlife. I simply love this area!
The Yacht Club features a variety of rooms, some with walk-in showers and others with shower/tub combinations. My experience has been that rooms with King beds have the stand-alone showers, while rooms with two queen beds have the bathtubs, but this is not a rule. The recent refurbishment of the Yacht Club was primarily exterior maintenance. The rooms received more of a refresh than a complete overhaul. Structurally, they are the same as before.
When making your reservation, you will have the opportunity to note any room requests. You can also call the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations number to confirm that your request has been documented. While Disney cannot guarantee any specific room requests, my experience is that Cast Members do all they can and are usually successful.
I hope this is helpful, Polly, and that you get the room of your dreams! You've got lots of planning to do, so if there's anything else we can help with, please let us know. We love helping guests make the most of the magic!
Always Dreaming -
Elizabeth
