We stay at shades of green hotel. Can we purchase a dining plan? If not why hasn't Disney cashed in on this yet?

    Hi Catherine,

While Shades of Green is on Disney property, the buildings are owned by the US Department of Defense and the land is leased to the government, so this is not a Disney resort. The Disney Dining Plan is only available at the hotels that are actually run by Disney, so if you're staying at Shades of Green then you're not eligible for the Plan. Guests staying at the Swan and Dolphin hotels are in the same situation; they have the great on-property location, but since these hotels are not run by Disney, guests there cannot purchase the plan.

i really wouldn't worry about this too much. The room rates at Shades of Green are generally much lower than the rates at comparably sized Disney hotels, meaning that you'll probably be saving money over staying at a Dsney hotel and getting the dining plan. And of course you're always welcome to make reservations for and dine at any restaurant in the parks and resorts, so there's no negative there for you.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
