can you stay part of your stay in a deluxe disney hotel and the rest of your stay at a value disney hotel?

Hi Sheri! You definitely can switch resorts during your Walt Disney World vacation!  My family often starts our stay at one resort and then moves to another during our Disney trips. We like to experience different resorts and be close to different parks, and moving around gives us the opportunity to do that. Splitting your stay between a deluxe resort and a value resort is a great way to experience the luxury of the higher-priced deluxe resorts while keeping your costs within your vacation budget by staying a few nights in a lower-priced value resort. Disney will even transfer your luggage to your new resort for you, so you can check out of one resort in the morning, head to the parks, and then check into your new resort in the afternoon and have your bags waiting for you. In order to book stays at multiple resorts, you'll need to book each hotel under a separate reservation. When you're splitting your stay between a deluxe and a value, I recommend you stay at the value first.

In my opinion, the main drawback to switching resorts during your vacation is that the Dining Plan doesn't move with you.  You can book a package at your first resort that includes park tickets to cover your entire stay at two or more resorts, but you can purchase the Dining Plan only for the number of nights you're staying at the first resort. Your Dining Plan credits must be used by midnight of the day you check out of the first resort. (Click here for a discussion of why it's generally not cost-effective to use the Dining Plan for an entire split stay.)

Have a magical vacation! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We'd love to help!
