We would like to stay at one of the resort hotels in Dec. How long does it take to walk from Paradise Pier to California Adventure? We are looking for the closest hotel but don't think we can afford the Grand Californian.

    Hi there Karen,

Thank you for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm thrilled to hEAR you are planning a trip to The Happiest Place on Earth in December. That is one of my favorite times to visit the Disneyland Resort-the Holiday overlay is breathtaking!

We truly love all three Disneyland Resort Hotels; each one has it's own special Disney touches. Plus, if you book a room at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, like Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, you can enter Disney California Adventure Park through Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa entrance by crossing the street and following the directions through the lobby. Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is directly across the street from Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel and the entrance to Disney California Adventure Park is about a 10-15 minute walk, although we have made it in 6 minutes at a brisk pace.

If you decide to stay at Walt's original hotel, the Disneyland Hotel, it is about a 15-20 minute walk or if you are going to Disneyland Park for the day, hop on the Monorail that is just about a city block away.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please write me back, I'd love to help you plan your next pixie dusted vacation.

    Wishing you magic!
