Hello Sabine!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We’re so glad to hear that you’ll be returning to the Walt Disney World Resort next year.
Disney’s Old Key West Resort is one of my family’s favorites and we consider it a hidden gem! We just vacationed at the resort this spring and I looked at a lot of these details while doing my planning.
A room located near the Hospitality House does have some advantages in that you are close to the main pool, shopping, and dining. At
Good’s Food to Go across from the pool, you’ll find the refillable mug station. We also enjoyed dining there and I was obsessed with the Caribbean Jerk Chicken Rice Bowl! Delicious! Open seasonally, there is a second refillable mug station at the
Turtle Shack Snack Bar, in the Turtle Pond Road area toward the back of the resort. At this time, rooms booked through Central Reservations rather than with Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points are not able to request the Hospitality House booking category. Not to worry though, I have a few recommendations for you.
I requested the Peninsular Road area in either building 27, 28 or 29. While no requests can be guaranteed, in my experience, the more general you make your request, the easier it is for that request to be fulfilled. We ended up in building 28 and felt that it was a wonderful location. The bus stop wasn’t very far, and we felt the walk to the Hospitality House was reasonable. We walked back frequently to refill our mugs or hit the hot tub. I will probably make this request on my next stay as well. You could also ask for either buildings 15 or 16, or 62 through 64. These buildings are also a bit closer to the Hospitality House. I was able to request this area for my parents on another stay and they loved this location.
I hope this helps you make the perfect location request for your upcoming trip, Sabine, and please feel free to send any additional questions you have about your upcoming vacation or Disney’s Old Key West Resort!
Happy Planning!
