Hi Stefan! Welcome back to planDisney! Like Captain Jack Sparrow in search of lost treasure, sometimes roaming gets you where you need to be!
The
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours benefit is available for Guests staying at a deluxe resort hotel at Walt Disney World. When the park closes, Guests with the benefit are allowed to remain in the park for additional time (usually two hours). The benefit is typically available on Monday nights at
EPCOT and Wednesday nights at
Magic Kingdom Park. Of course, dates and times are subject to change. This is one of my favorite benefits of a deluxe resort hotel because my favorite time to be in the parks is late at night.
Guests remaining in the park for Extended Evening Theme Park Hours are usually asked to show proof of their resort. This is typically done by scanning a MagicBand (or other form of ticket media) at the entrance to an attraction, as you move from one “land” to another in the parks, or at a shopping location. If you are still in the park beyond closing time (without a deluxe resort accommodation) the Cast Member will politely direct you to the park exit.
Stefan, there is a way to remain in the park a bit beyond closing time even if you are not staying at a deluxe resort hotel. This is true of any night, in any park. If you get in line for an attraction just before closing time, you are allowed to remain in line until you’ve been able to experience the attraction. Once you’ve had a chance to experience the attraction you will then take your stroll to the park exit.
Dreams do come true!
