I want to stay in a moderate hotel and we will only be going to the magic kingdom. Which is the best choice for me and my 7 y.o. daughter and what is the mode of transportation from that hotel to the magic kingdom?

    Hi Becky,

Disney World's Moderate Resort choices include The Cabins at Fort Wilderness, Coronado Springs, Caribbean Beach, and Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter.

Each one offers comfortable rooms with a number of amenities including, dining, merchandise shops, and pools. Each location is reasonably priced with fun theming and easy park transportation. Both Port Orleans locations has the Southern New Orleans style and an advantage is the proximity to Downtown Disney (by bus or boat) for late night dining and shopping opportunities. Coronado SPrings has a very unique Southwestern feel. It is home to a rather large conference center, giving guests some additional amenities like a beauty salon and health spa, however it can be quite loud and busy if a conference group is on site.

My two favorite moderate choices with kids are Caribbean Beach and the Fort Wilderness Cabins. Caribbean Beach was recently remodeled with fun Nemo or Pirate themed rooms and a cool pirate themed pool. The resort has a beach feel charm and is just a short bus ride away from the Magic Kingdom. The resort is rather large so be sure to ask for a room near the Old Port Royale Food Court if you plan on using the resort dining during your stay.

The Fort Wilderness Cabins is larger and offers a sperate free standing cabin complete with kitchen, siting room with pull down bed and a bedroom with bunk beds and a full size bed. This may be a little larger than needed but it would offer the kitchen for meal options and since it is located near the Magic Kingdom, it is only a quick boat ride away from the park and the closest moderate to the Magic Kingdom. There are also a number of fun amenities here including the nightly campfire and free movie with Chip and Dale.

Hope this helps. Good luck choosing and have a great time!
