Ho-Ho-Ho Laurie,
Welcome back to planDisney. It won't be long now until you are on your way to
The World's Most Magical Celebration! December is my absolute favorite time of the yEAR to visit
Walt Disney World Resort. The theme parks and
Disney Resorts Collection hotels are covered with festive lights and holiday decorations, and are simply breathtaking!
One of the many things we like to do during a holiday visit is enjoy the decorations at the various Disney resorts. Each resort has its own personality and theme and while they are all amazing, the enormous Victorian themed Christmas tree and life size, handmade Gingerbread House at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is tops in our book! It takes the pastry team hundreds of hours to bake and assemble the house and everything you see is edible. The house is a masterpiece and you will want to take your time to spot all the fun details that have been added. You will also want to be sure to stop in the bake shop area that is located inside the house. Not only can you take some great photos, but you can also purchase delicious gingerbread treats to take home as gifts.
You will be happy to hear that you do not need to be a Guest at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to visit this magnificent display. To get to the resort, you can take a short monorail ride over from either Magic Kingdom or EPCOT, or if you happen to be visiting
Disney Springs, you can take the
Resort Transportation over to the hotel.
If you have time, don't forget to stop over to see the gingerbread carousel at Disney's Beach Club Resort. While not as large, it is still a must see holiday treat! If I can help with any additional planning questions, please stop back and
see me.
Wishing you a magical vacation.
Margaret
