Kelly,
Absolutely you can enjoy your resort hotel pool on your check-out day!
One of the hardest things for my family to plan is what to do on our departure day. We are already trying to avoid getting sad about having to leave our home in the magic, but we also have to balance how much time we have before we have to head off to the airport for our flight home. Pool time at the resort is almost always the best choice!
Don't get me wrong. There are alternatives. We have visited theme parks on our departure day, but we hate to spend a ticket on what will be just a partial day in the parks.
Disney Springs is always a great choice, but it is pretty sleepy in the morning hours, so we typically visit earlier in our vacation. The same goes for
Disney's BoardWalk.
The only things you will want to plan for are where to change back into your travel clothes, and what to do with wet swimsuits. We have always found the pool area bathrooms adequate to our changing needs. As for the wet swimsuits, after some brisk wringing out we put them into some extra-large Ziplocs, and that seems to take care of it.
BONUS TIP #1
Most Disney resort hotels have a public use indoor shower located near the pool. Check with hotel staff as to the location and accessibility.
BONUS TIP #2Disney resort hotels have
self-service laundry rooms. If time allows, you could pop your suits into a dryer before heading home. Many even include systems where you can check for machine availability and when your load is done, all online. You could put them in to dry, grab lunch, and gather them up before heading home!
