If you stay at a Disney World Resort, but don't get the park hopper option on your tickets....can you still go to the fireworks or light parade at Magic Kingdom if you visited a different park that day? Thanks for all your help!

No. With a basic theme park ticket, you can visit ONE theme park per day. This applies to the entire day and evening. With a Park Hopper ticket, you can visit more than one of the theme parks during a day. If you want to spend the day at Epcot and then go to the Magic Kingdom for the evening fireworks, then you will need to have a Park Hopper ticket.

The only possible exception to needing a Park Hopper to visit two parks in one day is if you have a ticket to one of the special evening parties at the Magic Kingdom such as Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. In this case, you can use a basic theme park ticket to enter (for example) Epcot in the morning and then use your Party ticket to go to the Magic Kingdom in the evening.
