Do you have to stay at a Disney resort in order to purchase the dining plan? Also, can you make dining reservations before you book your hotel?

The Disney Dining Plan is only available to guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel.

Anyone can make Disney Dining reservations. You do not need to have a Disney hotel room booked in order to do this -- local Orlando area residents and guests staying off-site make dining reservations all the time without ever booking a Disney hotel room.

If you are planning to dine at table service restaurants at WDW, I encourage you to make your reservations as soon as possible, regardless of where you're staying. If you wait until your room is reserved, you may miss out on the opportunity to dine at some of the most popular locations.

Good luck with your planning and enjoy your stay at Walt Disney World.
