If we stay at the AKL after the new DVC section is open, can we use the new pool and water area? Or is this area reserved for DVC members only? I am so impressed by your knowledge of WDW. Your panel has made my trip planning so much easier. Thanks.

Good question and thanks for the kind words.

To the best of my knowledge, the Disney Vacation Club has not yet publicized any use rules pertaining to the new Kidani Village area pool at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. My educated guess is that if you are staying anywhere at the AKL, you will be able to use any of the pools at the AKL, regardless of your DVC membership status.

For example, I have stayed at the Beach Club, both in the villas and the main hotel, both as a DVC member and as a regular guest. On all these occasions, I have been able to freely use all the pools at the resort. The same is true at the Wilderness Lodge.

A related precedent allows guests of an All Star resort to freely use the pools at the other All Star hotels. And guests of Port Orleans Riverside may use the pools at Port Orleans French Quarter, and vice versa.
