Hi Maeve,
Disney's Boardwalk Inn is a fabulous resort especially for a Christmas season stay. Each of the Disney Resort hotels goes all out with their holiday theme but there is something about the beachy boardwalk-inspired theme at this resort that just feels like Christmas in Florida. You are also a short walk or boat ride away from all of the seasonal activities EPCOT and Hollywood Studios have to offer.
The good news is that room renovations for all standard rooms are now complete on the Boardwalk Inn side of this resort. The overall renovation is still listed as ongoing without an announced completion date so you will likely still see construction and walls up along Disney's Boardwalk, throughout the lobby, and on the Boardwalk Villas side of the resort. I would follow the
Official Disney Parks Blog for more details about when some of the exciting new Boardwalk Inn offerings like
The Cake Bake Shop will officially open.
If construction noise or walls are deal breakers for your vacation, you may want to take a look at
Disney's Beach Club Resort. It has the same great coastal vibe as the Boardwalk Inn and is within walking distance of Disney's Boardwalk, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and many other great locations. I stayed there recently and loved the look of this hotel and all of the fabulous amenities.
Since you will be visiting during my favorite time of year, I have to share a few of my must-dos for the holidays at Disney World.
EPCOT's International Festival of the Holidays is an impactful tour around the world where you get to experience the holidays through the words of storytellers, the tastes of unique seasonal eats, and the sounds of holiday music! I also love going to all of the Disney Resort hotels to check out the Christmas decorations, magnificent gingerbread displays, and seasonal treats that are specific to each resort.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
