Ahoy there, Chelsea!
I'm so glad you cruised to planDisney with your question. Your travel documentation is a good item to check off your list early, so let's get started!
The answer to your question depends on your itinerary and your citizenship. If you are a U.S. citizen sailing out of a U.S. port on a round trip cruise (begins and ends at the same port) and are heading to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Pacific Coast, Bermuda or Canada you can use an original or copy of your state-issued birth certificate and a physical Government-issued photo ID. Your cruise reservation should be under the name of your photo ID.
If you are sailing from other ports or are on a one-way cruise, you will want to check the
Disney Cruise Line documentation page for more information. Please keep in mind that these requirements are based on government guidelines and could change before your cruise, so check the information page and the U.S. State Department's website before you set sail. Chelsea, there are
benefits to traveling with a passport, and since you have time before your cruise, you might consider securing a passport for your journey.
There is
so much to experience on a Disney Cruise Line vacation; you will have a wonderful time! Here's a little fun tip for counting the days until the magic begins. Download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and enter the information regarding your reservation. The next time you open the app, a Character-filled countdown will appear! You can also use your Navigator app to complete your
online check-in and make plans for your cruise before you depart. Once on board the ship, the app will help you make the most of your cruise.
Chelsea, we would love to see you again at planDisney, so let us know if you have other questions!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
