Robin, welcome aboard! It's a wonderful idea to add a couple of days at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts to your cruise vacation. I hope you're able to visit the parks on those days as well!
I'm so glad you asked about ground transfers between the resorts and Port Canaveral, because Disney does offer these and I promise you that it is the best way to transition from land to sea and then back again! You can make reservations for Disney Cruise Line's ground transfers by calling the agents at Disney Cruise Line at 800-951-3532 to add these to your cruise reservation. There is an additional cost of $35 per person each way, but allowing Disney to take care of the details is worth every penny!
You can book transfers from All Star Movies Resort to Port Canaveral, and then if you're flying out of the Orlando International Airport the day you return from your cruise, you can also book transfers from the ship back to the airport. It is so relaxing to let Disney take care of the luggage, while you climb onboard the motorcoach and watch videos about Disney Cruise Line and classic Disney cartoons on your way to the port. My kids look forward to this ride each time!
If you do book these transfers, you'll receive a note in your resort room the night before you set sail. It will detail the time of luggage pick up the next morning (usually picked up from your room around 8:00 a.m.), and the time that you need to meet the group to board the motorcoach at your resort. The boarding time for the motorcoach can be anywhere from 11:30 - 1:00, depending on how many other guests are setting sail from your resort too. Once you arrive at the port, it's great because the lines will have cleared out by then, so you can normally check in and head right onboard, or if you wait, it won't be long.
Have fun planning, Robin and enjoy your Land and Sea vacation with Mickey!
