I am just starting the planning process for our family trip. Mom, dad, 12 yo daughter and 9 yo son. Never been to DW. Want to have the best time ever! Need help please. Thank you!

    Hi Tyler!

How exciting that you are planning your first trip to Walt Disney World! And as Mickey would say, "Oh, boy!" I have some tips for you!

You can go ahead and make your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel reservation and purchase your theme park tickets. If you haven't selected your resort hotel yet, I would love to suggest Disney's Art of Animation Resort. The family suites at Art of Animation are amazing because the kids and parents can have separate rooms, your kids can sleep in separate beds, there is a kitchenette and two full bathrooms! This resort also offers Disney Skyliner transportation to Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, which is a fun, fast, and convenient way to get to the parks! You'll also want to check out Landscape of Flavors, the dining location at Art of Animation, which offers a wide variety of food that appeals to all types of appetites.

When selecting your tickets, consider purchasing the Park Hopper Option because this will allow you to visit your reserved theme park in the morning and then hop over to any of the other parks after 2:00 pm. Make sure you check out the calendar for park hours, parade times, fireworks times, and special events.

There are also several things you will want to do 60 days prior to your vacation. I see that you are visiting on June 8, so April 9 is your 60-day mark. Make sure to reserve your theme park in advance. You can check the theme park reservation availability calendar to see the parks with available reservations on your visit date.

You can also begin booking your advanced dining reservations 60 days in advance. I highly recommend Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort because you can dine with the Fab Five (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald). The Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney's Hollywood Studios is also a great choice. Their cobb salad and grapefruit cake are amazing. At Disney's Magic Kingdom, check out Tony's Town Square Restaurant.

Oh, and when you arrive at your resort or at the park, make sure to ask for a 1st time visit celebration button! A Cast Member will write your name on the button and it will serve as a special souvenir from your first trip!

    Magically,
    Stacy
