We are starting to plan to book our trip/dining at the earliest out (180 days) if we book a character dining paying cash then decide to add the dining plan closer to actual time can meal credits be used and be credited back the cash w/o loosing RSVP

    Hi Vanessa,

You must be getting excited as you are preparing to book your Advance Dining Reservations! My husband and daughter love planning our meals around the parks we are touring.

When you make an Advance Dining Reservation which requires a deposit, it needs to be via credit card. This is to make sure you do not no-show at a restaurant. This credit card is only used in the event you cancel with less notice than is required. Whether you switch to the Disney Dining Plan or not does not impact your reservations.

When you arrive at the restaurant, the server will ask how you are paying. You can simply tell the server if you are on the dining plan or not.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
