When can we start looking at dates for next year?

    Hi Jennifer!

Welcome back to planDisney! I always love getting a Disney World trip on the calendar, so let’s chat about your upcoming trip!

In the past, vacation packages for the following year have been released around late Spring/early Summer. For example, vacation packages for January through October 2026 were announced on April 22, 2025. So, while that timeframe may change from year to year, that gives us some insight into when to keep an eye out. Around that time, I recommend following along with Disney World’s social media accounts and checking out the Disney Parks Blog for any announcements.

There are some big things in store for 2027, and I, for one, am so excited! Although specific dates have not been announced yet, Animal Kingdom is scheduled to open a whole new land in 2027, themed around Tropical Americas. I can’t wait to see how that area transforms the park.

In addition to that, there are several other areas of the theme parks currently undergoing construction and refurbishment…a lot of which will be open by the time 2027 rolls around. The things I’m most looking forward to are the reopenings of Big Thunder Mountain and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom, the debut of all the new offerings in Animation Courtyard at Hollywood Studios, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets (again, at Hollywood Studios).

While I couldn’t give specific dates today, I hope that at least gives you some guidance! If you have any other questions as you continue to plan, let us know. Thank you for making planDisney one of your go-to resources!
