    We want to start our day with a hearty breakfast before our first day at MK. We are staying off Disney property. Is there an area near MK where I'm likely to find a selection of restaurants? Can we eat (and park) at one of the nearby Disney resorts?

    Hi Jill!

    If you'd like to dine at one of the Disney restaurants, here are a few of my favorites:
    • Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom - I usually try to get a VERY early breakfast reservation for before the park opens. Its quite magical to walk into a nearly deserted park and view Cinderella's Castle in the early morning light! And then you'll be able to jump start your morning with visits from Pooh & Friends while you dine!
    • If you prefer to dine out of the park, Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary resort offers a great character breakfast. This buffet meal absolutely qualifies as hearty!
    • For a quieter, plated breakfast try Kona Cafe at the Polynesian. The Tonga Toast has quite a following!
    Dining at the Disney resorts does allow you access to parking at the resort - but only for your meal. My best advice here would be to park at the Ticket and Transportation Center and then ride the Monorail to the Contemporary or Polynesian or to walk to the Polynesian from the parking area.

    For off-site dining options, there are a number of restaurants (IHOP, etc) just outside the Downtown Disney area. I'm sure you'll see a number of options around your hotel as well - and maybe even a restaurant at your hotel.
