When can I start booking Disneyland resorts for January 2026?

Hi Dannette! Welcome to  planDisney! January at the Disneyland Resort is one of my absolute favorite times to visit. The air is cool and crisp, the pace feels wonderfully unhurried, and sometimes the only “crowd” you’ll have to navigate is a flock of ducks crossing near Sleeping Beauty Castle. It’s the perfect time to bundle up in your favorite Mickey hoodie and savor the magic at a slower speed.

Right now, the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort are taking reservations through December 31, 2025. The dates for 2026 haven’t gone live just yet, but if history is our guide, they tend to appear sometime in August. That date can shift a bit, so think of it like waiting for the next churro batch: it’s coming, but you’ll want to keep checking. The Disney Parks Blog is your best source for updates as they’re usually first to share out the news about hotel booking windows and vacation packages.

Theme park tickets are a different story as they usually become available about 120 to 180 days in advance. However, here’s some magical news: tickets for both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are already available through February 5, 2026. So if you want, you can lock in your tickets now, or just browse prices while you wait for those hotel dates to drop. And if you’re planning to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can add it right when you buy your tickets.

If you’re going without the Multi Pass, here’s a Q-Tip: be there bright and early. Mornings in January are often as refreshing as a spin on the Mad Tea Party, and the wait times are usually shorter. It’s the ideal window to zip over to Space Mountain, brave the Temple of the Forbidden Eye on Indiana Jones Adventure, or ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad before most Guests have finished their Mickey waffles. Plus, there’s something magical about stepping onto Main Street as the park wakes up.

I hope this helps you feel more prepared for your upcoming Disneyland getaway, Dannette. Whenever you need more tips, suggestions, or planning inspiration, we’ll be right here at planDisney to help you make the most of your visit.

Wishing you a wonderful planning journey filled with pixie dust,
    David
