Star Wars on May 4th at Walt Disney world is different than at Disneyland. What are the rules for the dress code? I know it says no clokes but I see people wearing jedi robes around the park everytime I visit!

    Lauren,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

Walt Disney World does spell out some costume regulations for guests, including some tied specifically for your visit to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, but you are right, it can be a bit confusing.

Nevertheless, despite what Edna Mode from The Incredibles says (No Capes!), you can wear a cape or cloak, but it cannot extend below your waist. Another great rule of thumb that they post on a variety of their informational pages is that clothing that drags on the ground is prohibited in theme parks and water parks. I think that this will likely guide you to your final outfit.

But so that you have all the policies and information that Disney provides as you consider what out-of-this-world character you will become when you visit Batuu, here are some great resources.

    • I find that this post on the Disney Parks Blog really helps in guiding a general costume policy, knowing that for Disney the most important policy is guest safety.
    • The guidelines for going on a Galactic Starcruiser voyage confirm that same policy.

    BONUS TIP
I would strongly recommend you get a MagicBand+ for each person in your party. Some of the interactive features can be a lot of fun, like using them to participate in the Batuu Bounty Hunters quest in Disney's Hollywood Studios. All the other features, like keyless room entry, charging capabilities, and ticket media access, are also a wonderful convenience.

I hope that this helps in selecting your outfit for your trip to Batuu. If you have any follow-up questions, please do feel free to write me back directly!
