How is All Star Movies Hotel? Staying 2nts. Going MK what other things can I do non expensive with a 5yr son. I find Disney very expensive. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Want to have as they say a Magical time w/o the expensive cost of DW.

Hi, LaShawn!  I realize Walt Disney World can seem like a big expense, but there are some great free and reasonably priced things to do, too!

Once you are in the Magic Kingdom, pretty much everything but food and souvenirs is included, so take advantage of the stage shows, fireworks, character meet and greets, and parades.  My girls love the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street party at the Magic Kingdom.

In the evening, you can head over to the Boardwalk Resort.  Out on the Boardwalk itself, you can usually find some fun street performers, grab a snack or a drink, and watch the acts.  We've seen jugglers and magicians, and it's always fun to see what we can see.

At Downtown Disney, your son can play in the little Lego Playground, building whatever he can imagine with the bazillion Lego pieces that are there.  You can grab dinner at the Earl of Sandwich for less than $10 per person, and split a sundae at Ghiradelli.

There is an evening wagon ride at the Ft. Wilderness Campground that runs about $8 for adults and $5 for children.  It's a 45 minute ride that can be great fun for kids and adults alike.  No reservations needed, you just show up at Pioneer Hall for the ride.  It is usually offered at 7:00 and 9:30 each evening, but check at your resort when you arrive to double check the times.

For $4 per half hour, you can also do catch and release fishing at Port Orleans Riverside and at Ft. Wilderness.  Ft. Wilderness also does a free movie each night and a campfire.  You can purchase a S'mores kit for about $9 if you want to add a snack to the event.

I hope you have a wonderful time!
