Does staff at oceaneers club speak other languages besides english?

    Ahoy, Raymara!

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for bringing such an important question our way as you look ahead to your special Disney Cruise Line vacation. My son absolutely loves his time in the Oceaneer Club and Lab, and I hope it’s special for your family too!

I spoke with a friendly Crew Member today to get clarity for you as I understand the importance of wanting to know that your child has someone available who can speak with them in a language other than English. While not guaranteed, please know that the counselors in the kids clubs come from all over the world and are a very diverse team. Typically there is someone who knows additional languages among the team for any given shift. They are experts at bringing children together and connecting through music, stories, games, and magic.

I encourage you to visit the Oceaneer Club and Lab on embarkation day; there is a special time planned for an Open House, the only times adults are allowed inside, to explore the area and meet with the counselors. The Open House times will be listed in your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once onboard. Visiting with your child will give you a sense of what activities are available and understand their comfort level being there without you. You may also talk to the team and inquire about their counselors for the week – what times would someone be working who speaks a particular language? You could then plan your child’s visits around those times based on your needs and their comfort level.

I feel very comfortable leaving my child in these exciting spaces – they have their own adventures with unique games, character visits, crafts, and just relaxing or making new friends in a really cool environment. Time to explore on his own in a safe place while on vacation is exciting for my son, and gives me a chance to truly relax onboard. I like to enjoy the beautiful adults-only areas on the pool deck with a refreshing drink, just staring at the sea or closing my eyes knowing my son is having the time of his life.

Raymara, I hope you meet some amazing counselors with additional language skills that enhance this already-incredible Disney Cruise Line vacation!

    Bon voyage,
    Amy
