Hi Stacy! Do you have any tips on saving money on food while at Disney?

I have several tips for saving money on food while at Disney World!

First, I highly recommend the Disney Dining Plan (DDP) It has always saved us a ton of money on our vacation. Since each guest in the party receives one Table Service, one Quick Service and one Snack per day, there is plenty of food for the entire vacation, as well as credits leftover to take the magic of Disney home! I like to substitute the dessert and fries for the bags of apples and grapes, then I tote those along with me for snacks later in the day. That helps stretch my meal further. I also get bottled water instead of soda with my meals, so I can bring the water along with me.

I also bring my own water bottle with a built-in filter so I can refill throughout the day at the water fountains. This helps save money on drinks.

The portions at Disney are also very large, so you can spilt one meal into two pretty easily. All of the Walt Disney World Resorts now have refrigerator in the room, so you can ask for a box for 1/2 of your dinner and save it in the fridge to eat the next night. Order a sandwich or another meal that doesn't have to be heated up.

Since we are often rushing out the door to go to the parks in the morning, we often bring our own breakfast items from home, such as protein bars, individually portioned cereal and yogurt, and eat it on the way to the park. This saves a meal from the DDP so you can use those credits for larger meals at dinner and lunch.

    Magically,
    Stacy
