Hi there, Kathy! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for floating your question our way!
A day at
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, and reserving a Beachcomber Shack is such a smart way to enjoy a little extra comfort in your own private slice of paradise. Whether you’re braving the waves in the
Surf Pool or taking a slow cruise through
Castaway Creek, it’s always nice to have a shady spot to return to.
When it comes to comparing the
Standard and
Premium Plus Beachcomber Shacks, Disney doesn’t publish exact square footage, and even after chatting with a helpful Cast Member at Guest Services, I wasn’t able to confirm official measurements. That said, based on their layout and amenities, most Standard Shacks appear to be roughly in the ballpark of 100 square feet, while the Premium Plus Shacks look to be closer to 150 square feet, thanks to added features and a more spacious footprint.
All shacks come with cushioned seating, towels, a locker, cold water, your very own attendant to assist with food and drink orders, and extra protection from passing storms—great for those unpredictable Florida afternoons! But the Premium Plus Shack brings the luxury up a notch with a mini-fridge (stocked with water), a flat-screen TV, an oscillating fan, a dining table, and four electrical outlets. You’ll also find upgraded wicker furniture and a concrete floor instead of sand.
If you’re looking to spread out and enjoy those extra amenities, the Premium Plus option is definitely a “splash-worthy” upgrade. Either way, you’re in for a relaxing retreat that’s the perfect complement to all the fun in the sun.
I hope this helps you plan a splashtacular day at Typhoon Lagoon, Kathy! If you have any more questions, I’m always happy to help you soak up the magic.
"Sea" ya real soon,
Eean
