My spouse is currently active duty. His discharge date is two months before our scheduled disney trip. Can we purchase the activated tickets from Shades of Green while he is active duty, but use the tickets after he discharges?

Hi Ashley! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for your question!

From one military wife to another, thank you for your husband's service! I know you all must be looking forward to that ETS date! Unfortunately, Disney Military Salute Tickets are reserved for service members on active duty status, retired, or 100% disabled. When you purchase these tickets, you must verify your military status and Guest Relations or use your ID at the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs. What I suggest instead is getting Magic Your Way tickets, which can be purchased at your local military base or through Shades of Green Resort.

What's great about the Magic Your Way tickets (aside from being discounted and tax-free) is that they are already activated, so no military ID verification is needed. You do need to make Theme Park Reservations before entering the parks. For future visits, Veterans with a DD-214 can continue to purchase Walt Disney World Resort tickets from Shades of Green in person during the months of January and September. You can also qualify to stay at Shades of Green Resort during these months too.

Ashley, I hope all of this information was helpful! Thank you again for visiting planDisney, and if you need additional pixie dust planning your visit, send me questions any time. You've got a friend in me!

    Choose Magic!
