Hi there, D! I am so glad you found planDisney to ask your question.
I know that the new
park pass reservation system can be a little confusing. It was for me, too. The easiest way to explain it is you simply need to make a reservation for the theme park you want to START your day at. You can then plan to enjoy that park, whether it is Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. Once the clock strikes 2pm, you are free to move to a different park.
By using the
MyDisneyExperience mobile app, you can look to see which parks are allowing park hopping that day by clicking on the three lines in the lower right corner, and then “park hours & info”. Here, each theme park hours will show, and also “park hopper availability” and the time (2:00 pm to close).
It is as simple as that! We park hopped today from Epcot to Disney’s Hollywood Studios using the Skyliner. We arrived at DHS around 7:00pm and went right back to
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The wait time on the mobile app was 30 minutes, and we were boarding the attraction in 22 minutes! It was SO worth the park hop!
I hope this helps with planning for your December trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth! Please come back to planDisney if we can assist you with more planning tips!
Happy Traveling (& hopping),
Tracy
