We have a split stay between POFQ and BLT. We have a lunch reservation for Sci Fi at 11:30 on the day we change resorts. Which dining plan will we be using at that time? I know it usually expires at 12am but if we’re changing resorts we didn’t know. Thanks

    Welcome Home Melissa!

You’ve picked two fantastic Resorts for your upcoming stay! Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is idyllic and has my favorite Disney dessert on property - Mickey-shaped beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory. While you are there, make sure to sample the Shrimp & Grits - the meal is equally delicious! Speaking of restaurants, one of my other favorites is at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The Wave… of American Flavors has signature sweet potato pancakes with pecan-honey butter and a side of sausage that are MY perfect way to start a Disney day!

Since you will be savoring lots of Disney deliciousness, the Disney Dining Plan is a perfect choice! Split-stays on the plan are a bit tricky but doable. Your entitlements expire at midnight of the check-out day of your first Resort. However, your new entitlements will START on the same day. So essentially, you have a one day overlap. To not lose your first stay entitlements, make sure to indicate that you want to use those at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant.

The My Disney Experience app will be the easiest way to track your dining credits. Open up the “My Resort Stay” section, then click on “Check Dining Plan.” You will be able to see the status of all your entitlements, including the total, those redeemed, and what you have still available. If you have credits left after lunch, remember, they disappear at midnight (just like Cinderella’s Coach). You might want to stop by The Trolley Car Cafe on Hollywood Boulevard. A Pumpkin Spice Latte counts as a Snack credit and will be perfect on a Fall afternoon.

Melissa, if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back! chEARs to a magical vacation.
