Hiya Erin!
Welcome to planDisney, and oh boy! Congratulations on your runDisney Dopey Challenge plans! I always find runners inspirational. I confess the only half-marathon I've ever run in my life was a runDisney race. They're so motivational and fun!
I took a look at the Walt Disney World
Build Your Vacation tool to see what your options would be, if you purchased a 4-day park ticket with the first portion of your split stay. When I priced out a 2-night Disney Resort vacation package with a 4-day park ticket around the time of your runDisney event, the system showed the tickets as valid for a 7-day window beginning on the check-in date. So for example, if you added 4-day tickets to a Disney resort stay on January 7 - 9, 2026... those tickets would be valid any 4 days from January 7, 2026 through January 13, 2026.
You can find this information for yourself after entering your stay dates on the Disney World website and selecting a resort, when you reach the "Customize Theme Park Tickets" page. Here's where you select the number of ticket days, then scroll down towards the bottom you'll see "Important Ticket Details". This will display the valid date range of your tickets. The more days you add, the longer that date range becomes. It can extend a few days beyond your check-out date.
It is slightly more economical if you can purchase a 4-day park ticket with your first stay, rather than purchasing 2-day tickets with each of your two stays. So if the date range extends long enough for you to enjoy those well earned, post-race days in the park... I think that's an excellent plan!
I hope this helps, Erin! Please send me a
message at planDisney if you have any additional questions. I'll be cheering for you to enjoy every magical mile of your races, and make some wonderful memories in the parks during your visit.
To infinity and beyond!
Tami
