Hi Lorie!
Welcome to
planDisney!
At this time, there is no way to split the purchase of
Lightning Lane services within the My Disney Experience app unless everyone books Lightning Lanes on their own. Of course, by each person booking their own Lightning Lanes, it could be difficult to snag the same return times for the attractions you’re hoping to enjoy together.
I get that the charges can add up quickly when it comes to Lightning Lane purchases, though! Whenever I’m in charge of booking Lightning Lane services for my extended family or friends, they pay me back as soon as I have everything purchased. You could also look at how much the Lightning Lanes will cost up to three weeks in advance, so everyone has a heads up.
To do that, click Purchase under the Lightning Lane Multi Pass/Single Pass section on the homepage of your
My Disney Experience app, choose the date you’ll be visiting the park, then choose the park from the drop-down menu. The price will be right there for you, but it’s good to note that it does not include tax.
As a reminder, if you’re the one in charge of booking Lightning Lanes, your booking window will open for your entire trip beginning at 7 AM Eastern, 7 days prior to your resort check-in date if you’re
staying at a Disney World resort or select good neighbor hotel. If you’ll be staying off property, your booking window will open at 7 AM Eastern, 3 days prior to the start date of your park ticket (for date-based tickets).
As you go through the prompts to book and purchase your Lightning Lanes, you’ll notice that you’ll do so for one day of your trip at a time. So, each park day will be a separate transaction.
Before your booking window opens, I recommend chatting with your family to see what your priority Lightning Lane attractions will be. That way, you have a game plan going into that morning. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you get all the Lightning Lane return times you’re hoping for!
Let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your trip! We’re always happy to help!
