Spending a week in Disney, we are considering taking a drive to Vero Beach (just for the day). Would we have access to the facilities there and are special arrangements necessary prior to going? Didn't see anything on this anywhere.

    Hi Gregory!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Located just a few hours from the Walt Disney World Resort, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is a great place to relax and unwind in the salty air of Florida’s Atlantic Coast!

The answer to your question depends on a few factors. If you are a Disney Vacation Club Member, and you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort using Vacation Points, you can actually pool hop to Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. This is provided that your trip does not fall into one of the scheduled black-out periods, and that the pool is not at capacity. You should call the front desk at Disney’s Vero Beach to confirm that your visit will be okay before you depart. Do be sure the person on the phone understands that you are a Member and plan to use your Pool Hopping Privileges. It should be listed in the Portable Perks for Members that the Cast Member can refer to. You will need to be prepared to show a Photo ID, your Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, and your Magic Band from your Walt Disney World Resort stay for verification.

Upcoming Black Out Dates for Pool Hopping are as follows:
    June 27 - July 11, 2015 (Sat - Mon)
    September 5 - September 7, 2015 (Fri - Mon)
    November 22 - 29, 2015 (Sun- Sun)
    Dec 19, 2015 - Jan. 3, 2016 (Sat - Sun)

If you are not a Disney Vacation Club Member, or are not vacationing using your Vacation Points, you can still visit Disney’s Vero Beach Resort to look around, but you would not be able to use the resort’s facilities such as the pool. I might recommend making a dining reservation at one of the resort’s restaurants as a great way to visit and enjoy some of the wonderful things the resort has to offer.

Wishing you a magical Disney vacation!
