Kristina,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
A
MagicBand+ does actually have a spending limit, but instead any such limits are tied to your resort hotel account. Think of the MagicBand not like a credit card, but more like your room key that adds your spending to the hotel bill. It is like if you were in a non-Disney hotel, dining at the hotel restaurant and you charged a meal to your room. The cost of the meal goes on your hotel bill, and never was there a question of
"How much can I spend on this meal?".
I actually chatted with a front desk staff member about this at
Disney's Pop Century Resort (where I stayed last November, and will be staying AGAIN this November!). As you likely recall, Disney had you put a credit card down on your room bill when you arrived, or when you used the
Online Check-In feature. When your spending hit a certain limit, Disney automatically charged that amount to your credit card. The amount in question changes by resort, and over time, so you really have to ask the front desk of your resort what that figure us when you check in.
BOTTOM LINEThe MagicBand+ does not have a spending limit, but your hotel room account, which has your credit card on file, will bill your credit card whenever it hits a predetermined spending threshold.
BONUS TIPObviously, I am a fan of Pop Century as well. But I am always shocked by how few guests take advantage of the
Petals Pool Bar. After a long day in the parks, whether I am traveling with my family or solo, I love to kick up my feet and enjoy an adult beverage as the sun sets. While it is located next to the pool, I do not find it too noisy. It really is a nice end to the day.
Please feel free to
send me any follow-up questions directly. I always love chatting about all things Pop.
Have a Magical Vacation!Doug
